It seems, HMC 8 will have at least one new nice feature – Performance and Capacity Monitor. OK, it is still to early to speak about HMC 8, because we don’t have any installation images of it, but we have now a redbook draft on HMC 8.

Chapter 3 of this draft is about new Performance and Capacity Monitor with a lot of screenshots. It seems, this very interesting feature will provide us with servers utilization data directly from the console, may be abandoning the need of Ganglia and similar software. We will see it several months later when new version of HMC 8 will be available.
